The lead executive at UK-based Brockmans Gin has left the business, less than two years after assuming the MD position.

Jean-Dominique Andreu (below) started in the newly-created role in April last year, with co-founder Neil Everitt crediting him at the time as having an “impeccable pedigree in developing super-premium spirit brands”. Global Drinks Intel has learned, however, that Andreu has departed the 17-year-old business in recent days.

While thanking Andreu for his “contribution and (wishing) him well for the future”, Everitt has “stepped back in to head the business”. The former Allied Domecq and Stock Spirits executive, who had assumed the role of chair at Brockmans, is also listed on his LinkedIn profile as a director and “anchor investor” at fruit beer start-up Jubel.

Having created Maison Ferrand in his native France in 1989, Andreu spent the next 19 years with his company, founding Pierre Ferrand cognac, Citadelle gin and rum brand Plantation (now Planteray). Since leaving the business, he spent almost five years with Stoli Group, three years with Camus Wines & Spirits and two with Edrington before joining Brockmans.

Details of Andreu’s next move were not immediately available.
