Brockmans believes it has identified growth opportunities in Central and South America for its namesake gin brand, as the UK company secures a business partner in the regions.

Panama-based Premium Brand Group has been lined up to handle logistics and commercial activity for Brockmans in both domestic and Travel Retail channels. Among the “new and high potential” markets that will come into focus for the UK gin will be Brazil, according to the brand owner.

“The gin category is growing apace in Central and South America and the appetite for super-premium gin from respected international brands points to clear and distinct opportunities within the Travel Retail sector for Brockmans,” said the company’s Travel Retail consultant, JP Aucher.

When contacted by Global Drinks Intel, VP of international Pierpaolo Indelicato confirmed the brand is currently available in eight markets in the region: Argentina, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Peru and Venezuela. Indelicato also said the wider Americas region, including the US and Canada, accounts for about 17% of sales globally.

Privately-owned Brockmans, co-founded by former Stock Spirits CEO Neil Everitt in 2008, is currently active in around 55 markets worldwide. Speaking to Global Drinks Intel magazine earlier this summer, CEO Guy Lawrence noted “strong growth [for super-premium gin] in big markets such as Germany, Spain, Italy and also Austria, Switzerland, Belgium and France”.
