Anheuser-Busch InBev has lined up the construction of another brewery – its eighth – in Colombia.

The group, which owns the Bavaria beer business in the country, will spend in the region of US$413m on the facility. Situated on Colombia’s north coast in Palmar de Varela, the site is scheduled to commence operations in mid-2024.

Production capacity details were not disclosed.

Among the Bavaria brands to be brewed at the facility are Águila, Poker and Club Colombia.

A-B InBev inherited Bavaria following the 2016 acquisition of rival SABMiller, which bought the brewer in 2005.

In its latest results, reported in October, the group saw its sales growth rate accelerate in the third quarter of 2022, hitting +12.1%. A-B InBev will announce its full-year numbers on 2 March.
