‘Hong Kong’s central position in Asia … makes it a natural base from which to bring together the full spectrum of Asian markets.’

Vinexposium has settled on Hong Kong as the permanent home for the Asia edition of its Vinexpo trade show, having alternated between the administrative region and Singapore since 2023.

From next year, Vinexpo Asia will be held at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre – which was also the venue for this year’s event, which took place in May. Vinexposium, the food & beverage arm of Comexposium, described Hong Kong as “a natural base” for the event due to its proximity to Mainland China, South-East Asia and “the wider Asia Pacific region”.

“Hong Kong has been part of Vinexpo Asia’s history since 1998 and remains one of the most relevant gateways to Asian markets for the wine and spirits industry,” said Comexposium’s Food & Beverage Division CEO, Rodolphe Lameyse. “Establishing Vinexpo Asia as an annual event in Hong Kong reflects Vinexposium’s confidence in the city and supports Comexposium’s broader food-and-beverage strategy in Asia.”

Last year, Vinexposium outlined its intention to emphasise the spirits and no- & low-alcohol areas of the legacy-wine-led series of Vinexpo’s trade shows. Starting from this year’s Wine Paris exhibition in February, the company now promotes its events through a “segmentation” approach, comprising three “complementary pillars”. While Wine Paris retains top billing, more effort has been put into pushing the Be Spirits and Be No elements that both run alongside their parent event.

Speaking to Global Drinks Intel last year, Lameyse predicted that the larger spirits brand owners – which have historically eschewed European trade shows such as Wine Paris and ProWein – will be present at the Paris event in an exhibiting capacity in the near future. The show’s 2026 edition hit a new high for visitor numbers, attracting 63,541 people – a 20.7% rise on 2025’s version, according to Vinexposium.
