Moët Hennessy has switched out its global travel retail lead with the group’s ‘Latin America & Caribbean’ president taking the reins.

The brand owner announced late on Friday (26 September) that Nicolas Gilardenghi has been appointed as MD of GTR operations. Gilardenghi (above) takes the reins from Leonardo Ferracina, who left Rémy Cointreau to take on the role in mid-2023.

Details about where Ferracina has moved to were not disclosed.

Gilardenghi joined the group in 2009 and got a first taste of its GTR presence in Europe two years later, assuming the position of .business controller and then finance manager. Between 2014 and 2017, he was finance director in the broader GTR unit. A further three years in Spain and Iberia preceded three years as “chief of staff to the Moët Hennessy president”. Since July 2023, he has been president of ‘Moët Hennessy Latin America & the Caribbean’.

“Over his 16 years with Moët Hennessy, Nicolas has successfully taken on multiple roles across the organisation including in the travel retail environments,” the company said. “Recently, as President Latin America & Caribbean, he has delivered outstanding results while strengthening strategy, engagement, and brands’ desirability.

“He now brings his deep expertise and extensive leadership experience to Moët Hennessy’s Global Travel Retail. We wish him every success in his new role.”

Last week, Gilardenghi’s regional peer for ‘Europe, Middle East & Africa’, Thomas Mulliez, was replaced by Moët Hennessy France CEO Laure Baume following his move to be president of the ‘Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin’ division.
