Keurig Dr Pepper has secured the rights to alcohol-free Canadian RTD brand Atypique.

The soft drinks group will handle the sales and distribution operations for the seven-strong portfolio for brand owner Station Agro-Biotech in the latter’s home market. The Atypique no-alcohol spirits line, comprising an aperitif, a gin and a whiskey, will stay with its owner.

Financial details around the transaction, which is centred around worldwide rights and scheduled to complete before year-end, were not disclosed.

The RTD range features Atypique Amaretto Sour, Gin & Tonic, Margarita, Mojito, Red Sangria, Spiced Rum & Cola and Spritz. A 12-pack of 355ml cans retails online for CAD29.99 (US$22) and is also available in off-premise outlets in Quebec.

KDP cited un-sourced data showing Atypique accounting for 42% share of Canada’s “non-alcoholic cocktails” segment. The brand was co-founded by former American football player Étienne Boulay in 2019.
