The global spirits industry is in the middle of a quiet revolution. For decades, the map of luxury drinking was drawn by a handful of familiar nations such as Scotland, France and Japan, each with centuries of craft tradition and the brand equity to match. That map is now being redrawn.
A new generation of consumers across the world is approaching their glass with a different set of questions: not simply where a spirit was made, but how, by whom and what it says about the person holding it. Luxury, in this evolving lexicon, is less about provenance and more about authenticity, or less about heritage as a given and more about craft as a lived commitment.
India sits at the heart of this shift and not merely as a consumer market. With one of the fastest-growing premium spirits landscapes in the world, a deeply sophisticated drinking culture and distillers who are increasingly producing spirits that command genuine international respect, India is emerging as a serious force in global luxury spirits.
It is from within this context that ABD Maestro, the super-premium and luxury spirits subsidiary of Allied Blenders & Distillers, has been built: rooted in India, but conceived for the world.
A house built for the global stage
Introduced in April 2025, ABD Maestro arrived not as a regional entrant, but as a luxury house with global ambitions.
Its association with Ranveer Singh – one of India’s most internationally recognised cultural figures whose persona embodies creative boldness and individual expression – signalling a brand that understands the modern luxury consumer whether they are in Mumbai, London, Dubai or Sydney.
The message is deliberate: ABD Maestro is building a portfolio for people who live with intention and drink with discernment regardless of geography.
The company is already present across key international markets – namely the Middle East, Australia and select regions of Africa – with active efforts to deepen that footprint across Europe, the Americas, and beyond.
For the global spirits trade, ABD Maestro represents something genuinely new: a luxury house rooted in the world’s most exciting emerging spirits nation, bringing a fresh cultural energy to a category that has long been dominated by the same established voices.
The Collective – Redefining ultra-premium
At the pinnacle of the portfolio sits THE COLLECTIVE Limited Edition, a release that demands the attention of any serious collector or connoisseur. A 34-year-old Speyside Single Malt distilled at The Macallan Distillery in 1991 and priced at INR1.1m (US$11,800) for a 70cl bottle in Mumbai, including the existing high government duties and levies. THE COLLECTIVE is ABD Maestro’s opening statement to the world’s ultra-premium tier. It speaks directly to the global collector who understands that great whisky is not defined by the country that bottled it, but by the liquid inside and the integrity of every decision made along the way.
The artistry of the limited edition’s presentation, where every design element reflects precision, heritage and understated opulence, makes it as compelling an object as it is a drink. In an era when the finest bottles are bought as much for what they represent as for what they contain, THE COLLECTIVE earns its place at the very top table.
The whisky portfolio – Four expressions of craft
ABD Maestro’s whisky range is built on a deliberately global philosophy drawing from Scotland, Ireland and India, while remaining unmistakably its own.
ARTHAUS Blended Malt Scotch Whisky brings together five Speyside and Highland single malts in an expression defined by honey, citrus and a warm, nutty finish – a love letter to the great blended malt tradition.
WOODBURNS Contemporary Indian Whisky challenges the assumption that world-class must mean imported. Crafted from 100% Indian peated and unpeated malts, it earned a grand gold medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2025 and represents India’s growing confidence as a whisky-producing nation.
AODH Irish Whiskey enters one of the world’s fastest-growing whisky markets at a time when India’s appetite for the category has surged by 57%, placing the country among the five largest global markets. AODH is a triple-distilled expression of buttery sweetness, dried fruit and quiet spice that rewards slow drinking.
ABD Maestro’s final expression in the range, YELLO Designer Whisky, a fusion of scotch and Indian malts, makes the boldest aesthetic statement. Its breakthrough packaging mirrors the energy of contemporary India that is vivid, youthful and entirely on its own terms.
White spirits – Craft for the cocktail generation
The global cocktail renaissance has transformed how a new generation engages with spirits, and ABD Maestro’s white spirits portfolio has been built to meet that moment. RANGEELA Contemporary Indian Vodka is a triple-distilled, platinum chill- filtered expression built for the flavour-seeking, experience-driven consumer as vibrant and dynamic as the culture it draws from, equally at home in a Melbourne cocktail bar as at a rooftop gathering in Delhi.
Meanwhile, ZOYA Special Batch Gin brings a distinctly Indian sensibility to one of the world’s most expressive categories: distilled in small batches with delicate juniper and a carefully balanced botanical selection that includes the signature mango ginger, it delivers a fresh, aromatic profile that stands out on any backbar in the world. Both brands speak to a consumer who demands quality and provenance from their white spirits and who is increasingly open to finding it from unexpected places.
India as origin. The world as destination
What ABD Maestro is building is more than a spirits portfolio! It is a reframing of what Indian luxury means on the global stage. For too long, the conversation about premium spirits from emerging markets has been framed in terms of potential. ABD Maestro is making it a conversation about presence. The brands are already on shelves internationally. The liquid is already winning awards. The cultural story of a nation whose relationship with craft, flavour and celebration runs centuries deep is already compelling to a global audience ready to listen.
As the international spirits community looks beyond its traditional centres of gravity for the next great expression, ABD Maestro is not waiting to be discovered. It is already there: crafting spirits of genuine distinction, building bridges between India and the world, and ensuring that the next chapter of global luxury spirits is, in no small part, written from India.
