The Boston Beer Co has confirmed the appointment of a new CMO, six months after the post was vacated by Lesya Lysyj.

Back in February, the Samuel Adams and Truly brand owner announced the then-pending departure of Lysyj after seven years leading on the marketing side. Earlier this week, Allison Stransky (below) was unveiled as the next CMO, a move set to take effect from 12 October.

Stransky joins Boston Beer from Samsung Electronics America, where she has been CMO since May 2023. Her experience prior to joining the US-based division included just over five years with Google, where she rose to become head of strategy & operations for global creative works, and almost ten years at L’Oreal in New York.

Her responsibilities will include oversight of “brand management, shopper marketing and connected commerce, digital & social media, integrated communications, media, sponsorships and experiential marketing and consumer & business insights”. She will report in to both founder & CEO Jim Koch and COO Phil Hodges, who had served as interim CMO since early March.

“We’ve always believed that great brands are built by … staying close to the consumer,” said Koch. “Allison brings a fresh perspective shaped by experience at some of the world’s leading companies, along with a genuine passion for brand building and innovation, and we look forward to welcoming her to Boston Beer.”

In results for the first six months of 2026, announced in July, the brand owner reported a 3.8% decline in year-on-year sales. The latest figures were followed a month later by news of the departure, scheduled for next week, of CFO Diego Reynoso.
