FIFCO USA has confirmed the departure of Piotr Jurjewicz as its CEO after three years in post and six years with the brewer.
The business, which owns the Labatt beer brand in the US and is part of the Florida Ice & Farm Co (FIFCO) group, did not provide the reason for Jurjewicz’s “stepping down” in yesterday’s announcement. Jurjewicz, who moved up from the CMO post in mid-2022 at the New York state-based company, will be replaced by Gustavo Cornejo “effective immediately”.
Cornejo has worked within the wider group for the past ten years, most recently as GM of Northern Central America, the Caribbean and Mexico.
“I want to extend my sincerest gratitude to Piotr for his leadership, unwavering integrity and commitment to transparency during his tenure,” said group CEO Rolando Carvajal. “His contributions have been significant … .”
As well as Labatt, which is controlled by AB InBev outside of the US, FIFCO USA also owns Genesee Brewing Co alongside Seagram’s Escapes and Lipton Hard Iced Tea. The unit was formed in 2012 when FIFCO acquired North American Breweries, then home to Genesee (which is also based in New York), Labatt USA and the Seagram’s Escapes licence.
In March, the company completed a capacity increase project at Genesee that cost US$50m.
