Constellation Brands has appointed ex-Diageo executive Jack Edwards as the chief sales officer for its beer division.
Edwards (below) joins the company following a four-month stint as president of Prestige Beverage Group in Minnesota. Prior to that, he spent a year as president of US beverage distributor Johnson Brothers and a year heading up the North American operations at coffee brand Illycaffè.
Edwards’s time with Diageo started in 2000 as a financial analyst. Over a 20-year career in the group, he worked his way up to become senior VP of sales & national accounts at the company’s beer division.
Global Drinks Intel has asked Constellation who filled the role previously, or whether this is a newly-created position.
“Jack is a strong leader with a track record of delivering results, and his appointment marks an important step forward for our organisation,” said Constellation’s Beer Division president, Jim Sabia.
“I am fully confident in Jack’s ability to lead our Beer Division’s sales organisation and position Constellation for success.”
In October, the group flagged an ongoing softening of demand for premium beer in the US, particularly among Hispanic consumers, as it delivered its Q2 fiscal 2025 results. In its final quarter, reported last month, Constellation’s beer sales inched up 1%, reversing Q3’s decline of the same percentage.
