Susanne Skippari will join the brewer at the start of September, Carlsberg confirmed earlier this week. Her first role in the alcohol industry, Skippari is set to leave Finland-headquartered elevator and escalator business Kone after 17-and-a-half years.
As well as overseeing the HR side of operations, Skippari will also sit on the group’s executive committee.
When contacted by Global Drinks Intel, a company spokesperson said the position became available after Joris Huijsmans left in November. Huijsmans, who joined Carlsberg from Heineken in 2016, was replaced on an interim basis by CFO Ulrica Fearn, the spokesperson added.
Late last month, Carlsberg posted a 6.4% increase in sales from the three months to the end of March. The performance, which CEO Jacob Arup-Andersen said he was “particularly satisfied with”, also saw the namesake lager brand deliver a volumes jump of 15%.
