- Sales in three months to end of September down 1.2% to US$2.93bn
- For first nine months of 2026, top line declines 1.8% to $8.37bn
Molson Coors Beverage Co has revised its full-year sales forecast downwards despite a slight improvement in performance from the most recent quarter.
For the three months to the end of September, the brand owner saw its sales decline by 1.2% on the corresponding quarter a year ago. However, the showing was better than the 2.1% top-line fall in H1, reported in August.
Evenso, Molson Coors estimates that FY calendar 2026 will finish down in sales terms by between 1% and 2%; a deterioration on the previous estimate of between +1% and -1%.
Against a backdrop of CFO Tracey Joubert’s admission that “external headwinds (have) intensified as the year progressed”. the group noted a 1% dip in quarterly sales in the ‘Americas’ reporting region and a 2% drop in ‘EMEA & APAC’. The former’s volumes in Q3 fell 2.9% – brand volumes in the US were down 5.6% – while ‘EMEA & APAC’ booked volumes of -3%, thanks in part to “soft market demand (and) a heightened competitive landscape” in the UK.
“Since launching ‘Horizon 2030’ [growth strategy] earlier this year, we’ve been laying important groundwork for long-term success by building the portfolio, capabilities, routines and operating discipline needed to perform more consistently across the business,” said CEO Rahul Goyal. “We’ve taken decisive actions intended to strengthen our share trend performance, accelerate our portfolio transformation, simplify our cost structure and return cash to shareholders.
“We believe our strategy is on the right track, but these outcomes are not yet scaled enough to offset the headwinds that we experienced in the third quarter.”
Last week, Molson Coors unveiled the results of a “significant” – albeit an unspecified – investment in the appearance of its Carling brand, with updated packaging rolling out in the UK currently.
