Constellation Brands has re-released its ‘holiday’-timed Noche Especial extension of Modelo in the US, while also expanding the amber lager’s availability in the country.
The limited-edition, 5.7%-ABV beer debuted in Mexico in 2018 and was imported to and marketed in the US for the first time last year by Constellation. From this month, the SKU will be available nationwide in six-packs and 24-packs, which Constellation said represents “an expansion on last year’s fewer markets”.
The lager takes its name from the Mexican tradition of Noche Buena, ‘the good night’, which is celebrated on 24 December each year.
“Modelo has always been rooted in Mexican heritage and cultural authenticity, and Modelo Noche Especial brings those values to life … ,” said Constellation’s senior VP of beer marketing, Greg Gallagher. “The enthusiastic response to its first year confirmed that this is more than a limited-time offering; it’s a tradition in the making.
“We’re proud to bring it back so the community can continue celebrating their culture and toasting to the moments that matter most.”
Over in spirits this week, Diageo announced it had revived a limited-edition ‘festive’ Johnnie Walker extension.
