The Kautz family, which owns California winery Ironstone Vineyards, has purchased eight wine brands and a ready-to-drink cocktail mark from the owner of Thomas Allen Vineyards & Winery, Allen Lombardi.
The brands acquired, also in California, include: Hook or Crook Cellars, Provenance Vineyards, Fortitude by Provenance, Red Phoenix, Thomas Allen Winery, Samuel Lindsay Wines, Landing 63, Weekday Wines and vodka-based canned-cocktail premix Weekday Water. Sales, marketing and distribution partner Quintessential Wines will “represent” the new additions nationally.
Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
“We’re excited to welcome these brands into our portfolio and build on the strong foundation already in place,” said Ironstone Vineyards’s global head of sales and marketing, Joan Kautz. “Our family’s longstanding relationship with Allan Lombardi and his team will help ensure a seamless transition for customers and partners. We see tremendous potential to build on each brand’s strengths and expand their reach.”
Global Drinks Intel has contacted Quintessential Wines and Ironstone Vineyards for further information on the deal and what assets were included.
Earlier this month, Seattle-based Precept Wine & Spirits also completed an acquisition in California, purchasing almost all of Miller Family Wine Co in Santa Barbara.
