Here’s a round-up of the new launches from spirits brand owners in the week commencing 8 June.
Chinola Guava Liqueur bottle
Chinola has responded to what it believes is "the next major flavour renaissance behind the bar" with a fresh guava-based extension to its namesake's cocktail-focused liqueur brand

Chinola Fresh Fruit Liqueurs’ Chinola Guava Liqueur

  • Liqueur, neutral cane spirit-base with the addition of fresh guava, sourced and produced in Dominican Republic, 21% ABV
  • Released this week in the US, initially available online before a national rollout to the off-premise channel with “full US distribution” expected in the second half of this year
  • SRP of $32.99 per 75cl bottle

Isle of Raasay Distillery’s Rye Cask 3.4 x Distilled

This single cask release from Isle of Raasay Distillery highlights the use of a purifier on the spirit still that can be switched on or off during distillation - "a set-up believed to be unique in Scotland"
  • Scotch whisky, single malt, Islands (Raasay), seven years old. Aged in a single ex-rye cask from Woodford Reserve, 59% ABV
  • Released late last month, available online for delivery worldwide
  • SRP of GBP95 (US$127) per 70cl bottle, limited to 246 units

Luxco’s Penelope Bourbon Classic Series

The Classic Series Straight Bourbon marks the first time Penelope has worked "at scale" with distillate from Kentucky.
  • American whiskies. Two expressions:
    • Straight bourbon, Kentucky. Comprises a mashbill of corn (78%), barley (12%) and rye (10%). ABV requested
    • Straight rye, Indiana. Comprises a mashbill of rye (93%) and malted barley (7%). ABV requested
  • Both iterations are available in “select” markets in the US starting this month, with nationwide rollout “to follow”
  • Straight Bourbon has an SRP of US$44.99, Straight Rye is priced at $34.99

Campari Group’s Espolòn Extra Añejo

Campari Group has timed the US release of Espolòn Extra Añejo with Father's Day - the third Sunday in June - in mind, as a "compelling alternative to the traditional whiskey or scotch gift"
  • Tequila, “extra” añejo. Matured for three years, two and a half of which in American oak with the final six months in ex-French chardonnay, 40% ABV
  • Released this month in the US off-premise channel as well as online domestic delivery “in select markets”
  • SRP of US$69.99 per 75cl bottle

Penrhos Spirits’ Penrhos Wonky Apple & Fennel

UK craft gin distiller Penrhos Spirits has teamed up once again with Oddbox for another flavour extension of its namesake brand, with a second annual variant scheduled for later this year
  • Gin, UK, flavoured with apple, fennel and a “hint” of lemon, 42% ABV
  • On sale from this week in the UK, available online for domestic delivery and through partner & subscription-based fruit & vegetable delivery company Oddbox
  • SRP of GBP34.95 (US$46.60) per 70cl bottle. On sale in limited – albeit unspecified – quantities
