Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits has reached an agreement to acquire “substantially all” of the assets of New York distributor Clare Rose.
The transaction, expected to close in the first half of this year, will see Long Island-based Clare Rose slot in under Southern Glazer’s New York division. The company currently distributes Anheuser-Busch’s product portfolio in Long Island, meaning Southern Glazer’s will take over responsibility for the likes of Budweiser and Michelob Ultra in the area.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Upon closing, Southern Glazer’s plans to continue operations out of its existing Yaphank, Long Island facility.
“Clare Rose’s long-standing reputation for operational excellence, coupled with its exceptional people and portfolio, makes this a natural fit for our growth strategy,” said Southern Glazer’s CEO, Wayne Chaplin.
Over in Europe earlier this month, D2C and B2B distributor Bemakers acquired Dutch importer and distributor Jolie Imports for an undisclosed sum.
