Here’s a round-up of the new launches from spirits brand owners in the week commencing 2 March.

Douglas Laing & Co’s Scallywag 18-Year-Old

  • Scotch whisky, blended, Speyside, matured for 18 years and finished in PX casks, 46% ABV
  • 2,610 bottles available globally, available through “select whisky specialists and premium retailers worldwide”
  • SRP of GBP85.00 (US$113.42) for 70cl

Gin 1689’s 1689 Dutch Orange Gin

1689 Dutch Orange Gin
This extension of the Gin 1689 brand is based on a 17th Century recipe "from the era in which William of Orange became King of England and made gin popular"
  • Gin, Netherlands, produced using oranges that are added during distillation
  • Debuted in the UK and central European markets this week, ahead of wider rollout to “several Asian markets”, including Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand, next month
  • In the UK, SRP of GBP34.95 (US$46.60) per 70cl bottle. Also available in 50cl and 5cl packs

Teeling Whiskey’s Teeling Wonders of Wood Virgin Carpathian Oak

Teeling has lined up the release of the fourth bottling in its Wonders of Wood series of limited editions
  • Irish whiskey, single pot still, mash bill of 50% malted barley and 50% unmalted barley. Matured for an unspecified period in virgin oak from the Carpathian mountains in Central & Eastern Europe, 50% ABV
  • Available domestically from this week, online for delivery in Ireland and through off-premise spirits specialists in the country. Wider international rollout scheduled for June
  • SRP of EUR80 (US$93) per unit. On sale in limited – albeit unspecified – quantities

Pernod Ricard’s Midleton Very Rare 2026 Vintage Release

Following the removal of magnets from Midleton Very Rare's packaging, the 2026 vintage release will be housed in a recyclable secondary box made from paper
  • Irish whiskey, blend of single pot still and single grain whiskeys, 40% ABV
  • Available from this week initially in Australia, Ireland, the UK and the global travel retail channel; additional European and US markets to be added from April
  • SRP of EUR240 or US$240 per unit

The Curatist’s Panama Edition

The Panama Edition rum is the inaugural spirit release for UK drinks brand The Curatist
  • Rum, blend of sugarcane and molasses rums with “aged Panamanian stock” containing 25- 18- and 10-year-old rums, finished in cognac casks, 45% ABV
  • Produced in small-batch runs, available in the UK with wider distribution available through Whisky Broker Associates
  • SRP of GBP140 (US$187.38) for 70cl

Diageo’s Bulleit Bourbon Mesquite Smoked Malt

Created with barbecues in mind, this limited-edition bourbon marks the first expression of Bulleit not to feature rye in its mashbill
  • American whiskey, bourbon, Kentucky. Mashbill comprises 65% corn, 30% mesquite smoked malt and 5% malted barley, aged for “a minimum” of six years, 46.5% ABV
  • Released in the US this week “with limited distribution nationwide”, also on sale online for domestic delivery
  • SRP of US$49.99 per 75cl bottle, available for a limited – unspecified – time

Penderyn Distillery’s Age Statement Welsh Single Malts

The St David’s Day 2026 launch marks the first age‑stated range for Penderyn Distillery
  • Welsh whisky, single malt, three age statements released: 12, 21 and 25 years
  • Released for St David’s Day (1 March)
  • SRP for 25-year-old of GBP1,200 (US$1,617)

Illva Saronno’s The Busker Small Batch Single Malt

The Busker Small Batch
The brand - full name; The Busker Irish Whiskey by Royal Oak Distillery - has added a small batch expression to its presence in the UK
  • Irish whiskey, single malt, no age statement. Matured in ex-bourbon then transferred to ex-oloroso sherry for “final maturation”, 46.3% ABV
  • Debuting online in the UK for domestic delivery this week
  • SRP of GBP50 (US$67.40) per 70cl bottle
