The CEO of Jackson Family Wines is retiring after having spent 35 years with the California-based company.

Rick Tigner, who has been CEO for the last 15 years of his time with the group, will be replaced by Tim Brown, who has been recruited from outside the wine industry. Brown (below) “brings more than 30 years of leadership experience across global consumer food and beverage companies”, said JFW, and most recently was the Americas CEO at Flora Food Group.

Having previously spent almost 30 years at Nestlé, predominantly in the Nestlé Waters business,  Brown has spent the last two years as a senior adviser on a part-time basis with Flora.

I am incredibly proud of what we’ve built at Jackson Family Wines and thankful to the family for their trust in me,” said Tigner. “Tim is a thoughtful, values-driven leader, and I look forward to supporting him as he transitions into the role and works more closely with the team.”

Five months ago, JFW released the first sparkling wine from its flagship Kendall-Jackson brand, debuting Vintner’s Reserve Brut Cuvée in the US. The company owns around 40 wineries around the world, as far afield as the UK, Italy, Australia and South Africa.
