UK-based high-end wine group Coterie Holdings has acquired Links Concept Family Wine Merchants, a Hong Kong-based wine importer and distributor.

The deal, financial details of which were not disclosed, sees Coterie Holdings enter the Asia region for the first time. Links Concept will continue to operate under its existing name and management, led by directors Alice de La Fuente Saez and Jermann Lai.

Founded in 2000, the importer represents a portfolio of international producers, including Champagne Louis Roederer, Antinori and Familia Torres, in Hong Kong, Macau and mainland China.

The family-owned company joins Coterie Holdings’ four businesses that operate across wine’s supply chain: bonded storage facility Coterie Vaults, merchant Lay and Wheeler, lending business Jera and importer-distributor Hallgarten & Novum Wines.

“This acquisition strengthens our international footprint and allows us to offer even greater opportunities for the family-owned wineries we represent,” said Coterie Group CEO Michael Saunders.

Last month, Italian liqueur producer La Molinari prepared to roll out its sambuca and limoncello brands to a clutch of markets in Asia Pacific and Central Asia.
