Robert ‘Bob’ Hendrickson, the interim CEO of US distributor Republic National Distributing Co (RNDC), has passed away at the age of 65.
Hendrickson (above) had held the interim chief role since March, taking over from Nick Mehall following his departure. RNDC has since appointed board member Marc Sachs as interim CEO to lead the company through a transition period, while continuing a search for a permanent CEO.
The late Hendrickson first joined RNDC in 1997 through the merger of Julius Schepps and Tarrant Co, which combined with National Distributing Co to form RNDC in 2007. He was COO of RNDC before stepping up on an interim basis earlier this year, and previously acted as senior commercial adviser to the business.
“He was not only a trusted leader but a dear friend whose warmth, generosity and unwavering loyalty inspired everyone who knew him,” said Sachs. “Bob built teams grounded in accountability, loyalty and collaboration – a culture that continues to define RNDC today.
“Undoubtedly, his legacy will be felt for generations to come.”
RNDC withdrew its operations from California last month, prompting a range of beverage alcohol companies to switch distributors.
