Diageo has collaborated with confectionery group Carambar & Co to launch a limited-edition Baileys x Terry’s Chocolate Orange extension of its cream liqueur brand.
Available from this week, the release combines Baileys Original Irish Cream with the chocolate-and-orange profile of Terry’s, marking the chocolate brand’s first move into alcohol. The 17%-ABV variant will roll out in a 50cl format with an SRP of GBP11 (US$15) across major UK off-premise operators and through selected pubs and bars owned by on-premise multiple Greene King.
Timed to launch 100 days before Christmas, the “new product aims to drive seasonal sales with two brands synonymous with the festive period”. According to Diageo, “more than” two bottles of Baileys and two Terry’s Chocolate Oranges were sold every second during last year’s holiday period.
Last year, the group lined up a pilot of an aluminium bottle for Baileys in three European airports.
