Distribution business Classic Wines of California is set to handle the brands of four Californian wine producers in their home state.
Whitehall Lane, Resurrection Brands, Guthrie Family Wines and Merriam Vineyards have agreed to move their California distribution responsibilities to CWC. This will include both on- and off-premise distribution throughout the Ceres-based company’s network in the state’s “fine wine market”.
Based in St Helena, Whitehall Lane produces cabernet sauvignon, merlot, sauvignon blanc, chardonnay and pinot noir varietals. Resurrection Brands, meanwhile, is the result of a combination of McManis Family Vineyards and LangeTwins Family Winery & Vineyards in Modesto. Guthrie Family Wines is located in Sonoma while Merriam Vineyards is based in Healdsburg.
The four additions follow CWC’s recently announced “strategic growth initiative”, which included “investing tens of millions of dollars in strengthening infrastructure” and “investing in talent”.
Earlier this month, the US division of Viña Concha y Toro confirmed a switch of distribution partners in California for later this year.
