The US division of AB InBev is set to invest US$300m in its manufacturing operations across the country.
The ‘Brewing Futures’ initiative has been launched to create and sustain manufacturing jobs for those working for Anheuser-Busch, the group said today (12 May). The spend adds to the nearly $2bn invested over the past five years, and included the opening of a second training centre for employees in Columbus, Ohio.
“This new $300m investment in our manufacturing facilities across the US is the latest example of Anheuser-Busch’s commitment to strengthening our local communities by creating and sustaining jobs and driving economic prosperity,” said unit CEO Brendan Whitworth. “Investing in our people and in new technologies and capabilities to drive industry and economic growth is core to who we are.”
In March, the US division announced an injection of US$4.2m into its brewery in Williamsburg, Virginia to “drive local economic growth”. Prior to that, the business revealed it would up the production capacity at its brewery in Los Angeles thanks to a $16m investment.
