The head of Lucas Bols Co is preparing to step down, with CFO Frank Cocx poised to take the reins.
Huub van Doorne (below left) will vacate the CEO role after 20 years at the Passoã liqueur and Partida tequila brand owner on 1 October. Cocx (below right) will move up from the financial lead, which he assumed almost five years ago.
Following the change, van Doorne will assume the chair of the supervisory board for the group at the start of next year.
“On this memorable 450th anniversary of The Lucas Bols Co – a milestone achieved by very few companies only – I believe the time is right for me to step down and pass the baton to the next generation,” said van Doorne. “I am grateful to all my colleagues and business partners, both past and present, for their support and dedication throughout my years as CEO.”
Current chair René Hooft Graafland added: “Huub has been instrumental in shaping The Lucas Bols Co into a leading global player in cocktails and spirits. We are also delighted that Frank will succeed Huub. Frank has played a pivotal role in navigating The Lucas Bols Co through some challenging times whilst driving an international, growth-focused strategy and mindset”
In October 2023, Netherlands compatriot The Nolet Group acquired full ownership of Lucas Bols, building on its pre-existing 30% stake. The transaction, which valued the company at EUR269.5m (then-US$285.2m), resulted in its delisting.
