Venezuela-based rum distiller Santa Teresa has unveiled refreshed packaging for its namesake 1796 brand.
The privately-owned business, which is distributed internationally by Bacardi, has updated the bottle design with a redesigned canister and a new rosette top to “pay homage” to the company’s history. The Santa Teresa 1796 liquid will see no change.
Also featuring in the refresh is the appearance of the brand name on the 70cl bottle, which will be in blue instead of gold, while the numbers ‘1796’ have been made more prominent.
Five months ago, the Venezuelan company released an Arabica Coffee Cask Finish iteration, comprising rum that has been finished for three months in American oak barrels previously used to mature four-year-old rum that has been cold brewed through ground arabica coffee beans.
In 2023, Santa Teresa promoted its ‘Project Alcatraz’ ESG project in a worldwide marketing activation, which was used to not only detail its sourcing and production processes but also to promote the social reintegration programme the company has been running for 20 years.
