Is your latest product ready to take centre stage? Don’t miss this opportunity to gain the recognition your innovation efforts deserve.
The drinks industry is brimming with creativity and exciting new releases. The path from new product development to commercial success, however, can be lengthy and complex. The business case for investing in innovation varies widely from category to category, while more generally, the shelf life of many successful product innovations seems to be shortening.
Recognising these ongoing challenges, Global Drinks Intel believes it is more important than ever to celebrate the spirits industry’s excellence in product innovation. We are delighted, therefore, to announce the launch of the inaugural Global Drinks Intel New Product Awards for spirits.
The awards have been designed to recognise the very best of recently-launched spirits. These can be any new product launched since 1 January 2022, from completely new standalone products to carefully crafted brand line extensions, finishes and flavours.
The New Product Awards are open to any brand owner/producer in any country, with the only condition being that the product must be available commercially.
“Our inaugural New Product Awards 2025 will celebrate the innovators shaping the future of the beverage alcohol industry,” said Global Drinks Intel‘s chief operating officer & marketing director, Kate Wake-Walker. “In a time of ever-growing competition, these awards are dedicated to recognising excellence – from bold new products to masterfully crafted brand extensions, finishes and flavours.
“The Global Drinks Intel New Product Awards are all about honouring creativity, craftsmanship and the drive to push boundaries.”
Entries to these taste-based awards will be judged by an independent panel of judges drawn from leading mixologists and industry experts, who will award Gold and Silver medals, as well as deciding the overall individual category champions.
There will also be awards in each category for best design and best packaging, both of which are free to enter as part of a tasting award submission. The cost is GBP145 (US$175, EUR170) per entry and entries will open on Monday, 3 February 2025. The winners will be announced at the end of October.
All Gold Medal and best-in-category winners will receive widespread publicity with the full results featuring in the November issue of Global Drinks Intel magazine, and across all Global Drinks Intel’s digital platforms, guaranteeing high levels of exposure to the world’s leading buyers and importers.
“Our success with the Global Drinks Intel ESG Awards, now in their third year, has shown the value of focused and meaningful recognition in the crowded industry awards field,” added Wake-Walker. “We’re confident our New Product Awards will continue this tradition, providing an essential platform for your brands to shine in an increasingly crowded market.”
