Texas-based spirits operator WES Brands has confirmed details of a change at the top.
Adam Rosen (below) will be the next CEO for the company, which owns the Aspen vodka, BSB flavoured whiskey, Flecha Azul tequila and Fraser & Thompson whiskey brands. Rosen joins WES from Diageo’s Casamigos Spirits Co unit, where he has spent the last six years as sales & marketing executive VP.
Prior to joining the high-profile tequila brand, Rosen’s career took in five years with Diageo North America, prior to which he worked for Pernod Ricard in the US from 2003 to 2007.
The news is a result of previous-CEO Shawn Thurman’s transition to recently-founded tequila brand Insolito in Chicago. Thurman was WES’s CEO from December last year, having spent around 40 years with Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits.
“The brands in our portfolio [have] tremendous opportunity,” said Rosen. “It’s also extremely exhilarating to work with our high-profile investors, who are … committed to building the business for the long term.
“I can’t wait to work closely with our talented team, distributors and retail partners to unlock growth for our full portfolio.”
Just over a year ago, WES Brands teamed up with Heaven Hill Brands for the then-pending launch of the Michael Bublé co-founded whiskey Fraser & Thompson
