As well as gold medals, the annual awards recognise individual ‘of the year’ winners from around the world. Here are the individual companies and brands for 2024.

A premium Mediterranean gin with a gentle aroma that is clearly perceptible on the nose as soon as the cap is removed, evoking a longing for the pine-scented air of eastern Macedonia in Greece.

The multiple award-winning Île Four Yuzu is the star of Île Four Sake & Shochu’s product line, a fusion of smooth premium sake with the incredibly intense yuzu citrus fruit that has been cultivated in Japan for over 1,000 years.

Because of its dry pulp the Yuzu juice can only be extracted in a complicated and expensive process from pulp and rind. Fortunately, just a few drops are already enough for a unique and intense flavour. While looking similar to the Pomelo, Yuzu has a unique and complex aroma – fresh citrus scent and the absence of the astringent acid of lemon combine into an enchanting combination of sweet, bitter, salty and sour.

The inimitable original from Île Four is an ingenious aperitif simply over crushed ice – or as a surprising base for innovative cocktails.

Branded Content – West Cork Distillers

Two expressions of West Cork Irish whiskey

Celebrating a double triumph at the prestigious Berlin International Spirits Awards, West Cork Whiskey’s 5 Year Old Single Pot Still Whiskey and 7 Year Old Single Malt Irish Whiskey have clinched gold medals, reaffirming their status as exceptional spirits in the world of whiskey. In addition the 7 Year Old Single Malt Irish Whiskey was found to be the highest awarded Irish Whiskey in the entire competition!

The Berlin International Spirits Awards stands as a beacon of excellence in the spirits industry, recognising outstanding quality and craftsmanship across various categories.

The 5 Year Old Single Pot Still Whiskey represents a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation. This exceptional pot still whiskey is composed of a unique mash ratio of 66:33 malted versus unmalted barley. The mash is then distilled in our Rocket Still and it is then matured in First Fill Ex Bourbon Casks and then after 5 patient years bottled at 43%.

Meanwhile, the 7 Year Old Single Malt Irish Whiskey epitomises the distillery’s commitment to quality and authenticity. Aged to perfection, this whiskey uses exclusively 100% local Irish grain and is also matured in Bodega Olorosso casks for a period of 4 years then further aged in first fill Bourbon Barrels for another 3 years. After patiently waiting for 7 years it is bottled at 46%.

These gold medals not only signify the exceptional quality of West Cork Whiskey but also serve as a testament to the unwavering dedication and passion of the entire team behind the brand. From the sourcing of the finest ingredients to the meticulous crafting process, every step is undertaken with the utmost care and attention to detail, resulting in whiskies that are truly deserving of international acclaim.
