Rufus Parkinson has moved up from regional director level for GTR at the privately-owned company with immediate effect. The move marks Parkinson’s first since joining William Grant in June last year.
His previous experience in the beverage alcohol industry includes ten years in Asia, four of which were with the Moët Hennessy/Diageo joint venture in China followed by a further six as MD of the Taiwanese business for Moët Hennessy.
The promotion is a result of former incumbent David Wilson’s decision in February to step away after almost three years with the group.
“Bringing a depth of brand building and global commercial expertise to his new role, he (Parkinson) is charged with steering the group’s GTR team as it continues to build on established leadership positions within the premium spirits sector,” William Grant said this week.
About two weeks ago, the company released details of a new blended scotch to sit alongside its Grant’s and Monkey Shoulder brands. Wildmoor comprises seven expressions, all of which carry an age statement of 21 years or more and two of which are on sale exclusively in the GTR channel.
