PrintabLED is the latest technology that is applied in the production of printing on metal sheets. Most often in practice, steel and aluminium sheets are printed. PrintabLED is an alternative technology: offsetting both the printing with inks that are dried in tunnel furnaces running on natural gas, and UV printing where drying is carried out using UV lamps.

The modern PrintabLED technology comprises offset printing with specially developed UV-LED inks. The printing is carried out on printing presses that are similar in construction to the printing presses for traditional ffset printing.

The difference is in the shafts, which have been developed with a special construction for the efficient printing of UV-LED inks. As a result, when printing with UV-LED inks, the consumption of ink is up to 20% lower depending on the design and colour, as well as the ink’s specifics.

The essential difference is in the drying of the ink PrintabLED technology.

Drying takes place on a specially developed module where the sheet with the printed ink passes through it and is dried in an extremely short time, of the order of 0.8 seconds (up to 1 second).

The project’s results are the optimisation of production processes, increased production capacity, shorter production and delivery periods, improved product quality and reduced energy costs with a positive environmental effect.

The project was realised with the financial support of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021, in the frame of the ‘Business Development, Innovation and SMEs’, Bulgaria.

Herti JSC to strengthen its presence internationally

The biggest focus for Herti this year will be to improve its production efficiency following the latest environmental trends. The company strives to optimise its production processes more and more, using new machines and technologies and thereby reducing the energy it uses.

One of the group’s main goals is to reduce environmental pollution by implementing the most advanced printing technologies, such as UV print. Using less energy and new eco-technologies reduces the harmful impacts in cap production. Environmental protection is one of the main goals for Europe and the world in the coming years and Herti follows the trend in providing its customers with products manufactured according to the latest environmental standards.

The company’s efforts throughout the year ahead will be focused on improving the production of its current portfolio.

In 2023, Herti received two new certificates – ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. The two new quality standards require the group to focus its efforts on improving processes to reduce harmful emissions on nature and people, as well as use good human practices.

The trend for Herti and its customers is to become more eco-friendly, and this year the group will focus its efforts on this. “The production of caps can be improved and we believe that this year will bring more benefits to Herti, while also contributing to the environment,” Herti says.

“It has never been important for us to accumulate new product developments, but to have a constant range of products that meet the market, manufactured with the latest technology and environmental requirements.”
