At GCA, we’ve been making a significant impact on the glass packaging industry through our value-added products since 2015. Our mission is to address the needs of our business partners as if they were our own, with a strong focus on digitalisation. By placing customer experience at the forefront, we listen to our customers using modern methods, rather than traditional measurements and incorporate their feedback into our business model.
We view glass packaging production not only as an industrial process but also as a quality-driven, innovative, and sustainable endeavour. Our global perspective enables us to leverage the limitless potential of glass to create a worldwide impact.
‘We deliver quality and aesthetics through our designs’
At GCA, we manufacture world-class glass bottles and jars for the food, beverage and spirits industries, meeting global standards. In 2023, our emphasis has been on spirits, a leading category in the food and beverage sector. We offer our business partners the opportunity to elevate their brands across all categories with our premium flint glass. Our goal is to expand our presence in the global market, particularly in spirits premium glass bottle projects and production rates. We distinguish ourselves in the industry with our design capabilities, crafting unique packaging that captures the essence and character of each brand.
‘We are at the forefront of recycling through sustainability initiatives’
Environmental stewardship is a top priority for us. We minimise waste production and promote eco-friendly alternatives by utilising innovative and sustainable materials. Our EKOMAT project, serving around 100,000 people, facilitated the recycling of 1.9m glass, plastic and metal bottles in just 14 months. This initiative saved 193,228kg of natural resources, met the energy needs of 801 houses for a year, reduced landfill waste by 54 garbage trucks, prevented greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to the yearly cleansing of around 240 trees, and averted oil waste equivalent to one day’s average fuel consumption for 18,543 vehicles, contributing TRY1.6m [US$59,060] to the national economy.
At GCA, we actively collaborate with valuable non-governmental organisations benefiting both the food and beverage and glass packaging industries globally. We serve as board members of FEVE [European Glass Container Manufacturers Federation], ASD [Turkish Packaging Manufacturers Association] and ÇEVKO [Environmental Protection & Packaging Waste Utilization Foundation], participating in various projects with them. Additionally, we are members of SUDER [representing packaged water producers], MASUDER [supporting the mineral water industry], TÜSİAD, TEV and the Sustainability Academy under the Gürok Group umbrella.
‘We are committed to expanding our global presence, particularly in spirits’
Through our numerous projects and designs, we’ve achieved significant success on a global scale, positioning ourselves as one of the preferred players in glass packaging internationally. We currently export to over 40 countries and aim to expand our reach further. As a company that produces 1bn items of glass packaging annually, approximately 30% of our business comes from exports, a figure we aim to increase. We closely monitor emerging markets and regions, adapting our strategies accordingly.
In the upcoming year, our focus is on expanding our spirits premium glass bottle projects, particularly in international markets, and increasing the proportion of premium glass bottle spirits products in our overall production. To this end, we will showcase our quality and sustainable premium spirits glass bottle solutions at the Luxe Pack Monaco 2023 Fair from 2 to 4 October.
‘Our business partners are of utmost importance to us’
In addition to automating production processes with state-of-the-art machinery, we leverage digitalisation to enhance the value we provide to our business partners. Much like many other sectors, the glass production industry is benefiting from the positive effects of digitalisation in the era of Industry 4.0.
At GCA, we believe that digitalisation presents an opportunity to equip our workforce with new competencies. To capitalise on this opportunity, we continuously analyse production data to offer superior services to our business partners.
Our commitment to digital transformation extends beyond production; we’re also digitalising our shipment processes through various projects. Presently, we are striving to improve operational efficiency by utilising cutting-edge customer experience tracking tools in collaboration with our business partners. Each year, we embark on projects to enhance the effectiveness of our world-leading CRM system. Notable examples include the GCA Business Partner Experience Center and Shipment Appointment System projects launched this year.
Through these endeavours, GCA is wholeheartedly embracing end-to-end digital transformation to further enhance the value we provide to our business partners, from the initial stages of production to final delivery, with a growing momentum.
