Rémy Cointreau has unveiled a Cognac-inspired line of fragrances in the US, with a price tag of just over US$6,000.
Maison Psyché comprises five scents created in partnership with “the largest privately-owned fragrance & taste company”, Firmenich. Initially available to the private client base for high-end Cognac Louis XIII, all five have spent time in oak casks in the Maison Rémy Martin cellars.
Prices start at $6,100 for the fragrances, which include ‘Alexanor’ [featuring bergamot from Calabria], ‘Belle-Dame’ [rose from Grasse in southern France], ‘Alcyone’ [Indian jasminum grandiflorum], ‘Hamadryas’ [bourbon vanilla from Madagascar] and ‘Nymphalis’ [Indonesian patchouli].
“With Maison Psyché, Rémy Cointreau is showcasing its expertise in a new medium, representing the latest chapter as the group continues to push the boundaries of what is possible in the world of fine craftsmanship,” the company said.
Earlier this year, the brand owner posted a “very strong double-digit decline” in its US sales from the closing three months of 2022. The group will announce results for fiscal 2023, to the end of March, on 28 April.
