Fever-Tree has confirmed plans to appoint the former CFO of SABMiller as the chair of its board.

Domenic De Lorenzo, who took hold of the finance reins at the brewer back in 2015, will assume the non-executive role once the mixer company has held its AGM in May. A board member since 2018, De Lorenzo will take over from Bill Ronald, who has been Fever-Tree’s chair for just over nine years.

De Lorenzo spent around 20 years with SABMiller, assuming the CFO position, initially on an acting basis, in February 2015. Confirmed as permanent CFO five months later, Lorenzo stepped aside following the completion of Anheuser-Busch InBev’s takeover in late 2016.

In September, Fever-Tree reported a 14% lift in six-month sales to the end of June, with the US performance of its mixers portfolio driving the numbers. The company emphasised at the time its intention to shift more production in-market.
