American whiskey producer Sagamore Spirit has recruited a former Bacardi executive to head up its sales operations.

Dayna Dennington moves across from her current role in the US & Caribbean commercial team with Fever-Tree to join the Maryland-based company next week. Prior to her four years with the mixer brand owner, Dennington’s drinks industry career included two-and-a-half years with Bacardi in Florida.
She has also worked for Stoli Group and Treasury Wine Estates.
As executive VP of sales for Sagamore, Dennington will join the leadership team at the distiller, whose portfolio centres around the namesake Maryland Rye Whiskey. Two months ago, the company unveiled a three-strong line of rye whiskey-based RTDs for the US.
American whiskey faces challenges but its long-term outlook could scarcely be better
