Bollinger Group has increased its presence in the Loire, acquiring Domaine Hubert Brochard in the wine-producing region.
The owner of the namesake Champagne brand will add the fifth-generation winemaker to its list of estates, which also includes Maison Langlois Chateau and Château de Thauvenay in the Loire. Brochard owns 60 hectares in the Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé appellations d’origine contrôlée (AOC).
Given Bollinger’s family ownership, the transaction’s financial details were not disclosed.
According to the official Brochard website, the winery’s 2021 white Sancerre retails at EUR15.20 (US$15.90) per bottle.
