Moët Hennessy has confirmed a change of communications lead as Anne-Catherine Grimal makes way for Jean-Martial Ribes.

Jean-Martial Ribes has been with Paris Saint-Germain since March 2015

The wine & spirits division of LVMH has welcomed Ribes as VP of communication this week. After just over seven years as MD of communications for soccer club Paris Saint-Germain, Ribes steps into the role vacated by Grimal, who is retiring after nearly three-and-a-half years with the Hennessy Cognac brand owner.

Grimal has been with the wider LVMH group for 25 years and intends to “move to a freelance communication consulting role, in which she will continue to support Moët Hennessy in different missions”.

Ribes will report in to unit CEO Philippe Schaus.

In April, Moët Hennessy, which is 35%-owned by Diageo, posted a 2% year-on-year increase in sales from the three months to the end of March. Volumes for the namesake Cognac, however, were down by an unspecified amount as a result of “supply and logistical constraints at the beginning of the year”.

The unit accounts for around 9% of group sales for LVMH.
