Mexico will be the debut market for a branded RTD version of the Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey and Coca-Cola bar serve.
Jack Daniel’s brand owner Brown-Forman has confirmed the creation of a “global relationship” with The Coca-Cola Co today. The arrangement will kick off with a premix ‘Jack & Coke’ in Mexico towards the end of this year, ahead of “markets around the world”.
Carrying an ABV of 5%, the RTD will also feature a zero-sugar SKU, both of which will launch in 350ml cans.
“This relationship brings together two classic American icons to deliver consumers a taste experience they love in a way that is consistent, convenient and portable,” said Brown-Forman CEO Lawson Whiting. “Brown-Forman has been a leader in the ready-to-drink category since we launched our first Jack Daniel’s RTD more than 30 years ago.
Coca-Cola perfectly complements Jack Daniel’s and our existing RTD offerings, enabling us to accelerate expansion and continue to grow our business around the world.”
Coca-Cola’s presence in the alcohol category already includes Lemon-Dou, which is currently available in Japan, China and the Philippines, Topo Chico Hard Seltzer in around 20 markets, Schweppes Pre-Mixed Cocktails in Brazil and Simply Spiked Lemonade and Fresca Mixed in the US.
Earlier this month, Brown-Forman posted a 17% top-line increase from the 12 months to the end of April, with its flagship whiskey surpassing its pre-pandemic volumes.
