American singer-songwriter Norah Jones has become a co-owner of French winery Maison Wessman and launched This Life, a range of wines from the south of the country.
Jones, who has paid an undsclosed sum for an unspecified size stake in the company, has collaborated with Maison Wessman’s team to blend two inaugural varietals: This Life Sparkling 2024 (below), a Crémant de Limoux made from chardonnay, chenin blanc, pinot noir and mauzac; and This Life Rosé 2024, made with syrah and grenache. The wines will be imported into the US through Alchemy Wine & Spirits.
This Life Sparkling carries an SRP of US$25, and This Life Rosé will be priced at $17. The pair will be available online through the brand’s website and via social media platforms.
Maison Wessman produces red, white and sparkling wines from vineyards in Bergerac and Limoux. The château was restored by owner Robert Wessman in the early 2000s, with the first vintage released in 2016.
In addition to the latest project with Jones, Maison Wessman has recently expanded its vineyard holdings with its acquisition of the Verdots Vineyard and other plantings in Limoux’s Haute Vallée. The winery now cultivates nearly 60 hectares across southwest France.
