Foley Family Wines & Spirits has confirmed that Mike Higgins, the CEO of its listed Foley Wines division in New Zealand, will remain as the head of the unit on a permanent basis.

Higgins (below) has acted as interim CEO since February following the departure of Mark Turnbull. The now permanent lead said his “continued focus will be on enhancing the business’ growth and premiumisation strategy to deliver value to our customers, team members and shareholders”.

Higgins joined the Foley New Zealand Group in December as CEO of Foley Hospitality, overseeing group founder Bill Foley’s hospitality and lodging operations in the country. Prior to that, Higgins was CCO at Auckland FC during the soccer club’s debut season.

“Mike’s significant commercial experience with growth businesses in New Zealand will add real value to our customers and our people,” said Foley Wines’ chair, Paul Brock. “He will play a key role in leading the continued success of Foley Wines.”

In August, the California-headquartered group transitioned the VP of its international sales, Ryan Stewart, to its Foley Wines division.
