Former Heineken executive David Burford has transitioned to the CEO position at new employer Beck Family Estates in South Africa.
Burford, who spent six years with Heineken, starts in his new role this month. Replacing Chris du Toit, who has stepped down to run his own consultancy while remaining on the wine company’s board, Burford moves up from chief sales officer after just three months.
He left Heineken at the start of this year, having been appointed GM for ‘craft & variety’ in South Africa in early 2018.
As well as its namesake Graham Beck sparkling and premium wine brand, the company also has holdings in Oregon, home to the Abbott Claim and Angela Vineyards brands.
