A New York-based start-up brand owner has commenced operations this week, with Holistic Spirits Co positioning itself as a health-&-wellness spirits operator.
The company, which debuts with a gin and a vodka, has been co-founded by actor Woody Harrelson and entrepreneur Amy Holmwood. Holistic Spirits claims to have a patent pending on its “unique alcohol composition invention” that centres around certified organic ingredients and “certified green distilling methods”.
Specific details about the composition and distillation were not disclosed.
The initial brands, Origen Specialty Vodka, and Harmony Gin, both feature botanicals including artichoke leaves, elderberries, green tea leaves and muscadine grapes. Added to these for Harmony are juniper berries, coriander seed, hyssop, lemon peel, lime peel, angelica root and orris root. The pair are available now in six US states as well as the District of Columbia, with SRPs of between US$39.99 and $46.99 per bottle, depending on market.
“For years I’ve wondered who was going to come along and put my favourite superfoods into spirits,” said Harrelson. “It was a no-brainer to get involved from the start.”
