Glenfiddich owner William Grant & Sons has prepared the release of a three-strong series of expressions from the single malt Scotch whisky, the oldest of which is 50 years old.
‘Time Re:Imagined’ is set to roll out this month to the off-premise channel worldwide in selected outlets, as well as to “luxury Travel Retail”. The packaging across the collection has the concept of time as its inspiration.
The line comprises Glenfiddich 30 Year Old, which has an SRP in the UK of GBP900 (US$1,047), Glenfiddich 40 Year Old at GBP3,500 and the GBP35,000 50 Year Old. When contacted by Global Drinks Intel, a spokesperson for the brand owner confirmed that 220 decanters of the oldest expression will be available, along with 1,600 of the 40 Year Old. The 30 Year Old will be “more widely available”, the spokesperson added.
Last month, William Grant unveiled a more realistically-priced range from Glenfiddich in the Global Travel Retail channel. ‘The Perpetual Collection’ retails at between GBP47 (then US$57) and GBP90.
