Here’s a round-up of the new launches from spirits brand owners in the week commencing 30 September.


Bottle of Hendrick's Sunspell gin

Proximo Spirits’ Bushmills 12 Year Old

  • Irish whiskey, single malt, 12 years old. Aged for “at least” 11 years in ex-bourbon barrels (first fill) before being finished in ex-Pedro Ximénez sherry butts, 46% ABV
  • An exclusive for the global travel retail channel, released in the Asia Pacific region from the end of this month
  • SRP of US$70 per 70cl bottle
Bottle of and box for Bushmills 12 Year Old
Going on sale only in the Asia Pacific region through GTR, the 12-year-old permanent line extension joins its 15- and 21-year-old siblings in Bushmills' 'World Wood' line of bottlings

Pernod Ricard’s Chivas Regal Takumi Reserve

  • Spirit drink, comprises 12 year old blended scotch whisky, some of which has been finished for an unspecified period in oak barrels previously used by the Chivas Regal brand that have then contained Link 8888, a sake brewed by Masuizumi in Japan, 40% ABV
  • Released domestically this week in Cambodia, Japan, the Philippines and Taiwan
  • SRP not immediately available, on sale in 70cl bottles

As a proportion of the whisky has come into contact with sake, this extension of the Chivas Regal blended scotch brand must be described as a spirit drink

Zamora Co’s Volteo tequila range

  • Tequila. Portfolio comprises blanco, reposado (three months in ex-bourbon barrels) and cristalino (three months in ex-wine barrels). Produced by Destileria Casa de Piedra
  • Rolling out across the US through Zamora’s unit in the country
  • SRPs of US$69.99, $89.99 and $99.99, respectively, per 75cl bottle
Three expressions in the Volteo Tequila portfolio
Volteo, which translares as 'to turn things around', is the result of Zamora's tie-up with the brand's founding investor, American football player Dak Prescott

William Grant & Sons’ Hendrick’s Sunspell Gin – Limited Edition

  • Gin, botanicals include unspecified citrus fruits, 43.4% ABV
  • Set for November release exclusively to the global travel retail channel
  • SRP of GBP42 (US$56) per 1-litre bottle

La Martiniquaise-Bardinet’s Gibson’s Italian Lemon

  • Gin, flavoured, 37.5% ABV
  • Released this week in the parent brand’s current markets – “over 50 countries”
  • SRP of EUR14 (US$15.50) per 70cl bottle

Suntory Global Spirits’ Hibiki 40 Years Old – Limited Edition

  • Japanese whisky, blended, 40 years old, contains whiskies from the Chita, Hakushu and Yamazaki distilleries matured in mizunara, Spanish and American oak casks, 43% ABV
  • On sale from this week through “selected” retailers in Australia, China, France, Germany, Italy, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, the UK, the US, Northern Europe and the global travel retail channel
  • SRP in the US of US$35,000 per unit, specific numbers of which were not disclosed
Bottle of and box for Hibiki 40 Year Old
The limited-edition iteration is the oldest from the Hibiki brand and includes a box made from 12 kinds of Japanese wood
