Here’s a round-up of the new launches from spirits brand owners in the week commencing 27 October.


Templeton Single Barrel Rye bottle
Named after its home town in Iowa, Templeton has unveiled this limited-edition, single-barrel rye whiskey

Infinium Spirits’ Templeton Single Barrel Rye

  • American whiskey, rye (95% rye with 5% malted barley), Iowa, aged for an unspecified new American oak, 58.55% ABV
  • Released in the US this week through selected off-premise partners as well as online for domestic delivery
  • SRP of US$49.99 per 75cl bottle, available for a limited – albeit unspecified – time

Marussia Beverages’ Hatozaki Triple Cask Reserve

Hatozaki Triple Cask Reserve
The brand owner says that aging in Umeshu plum liqueur casks is a method "rarely seen in the whisky world and uniquely rooted in Japan"
  • Japanese blended whisky, first aged in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry barrels for unspecified period, followed by six months in Umeshu plum liqueur casks, 46%
  • Information on availability not immediately available
  • SRP of GBP58 (US$75) per 75cl bottle

Suntory Global Spirits’ Knob Creek 21 Year Old

Knob Creek 21 Year Old bottle
The group's James B Beam Distilling Co division has lined up the oldest iteration of Knob Creek for US release this week
  • American whiskey, bourbon, Kentucky straight, 21 years old, 50% ABV
  • On sale across the US from this week, available in limited – albeit unspecified – quantities
  • SRP of US$249.99 per 75cl bottle

Suntory Global Spirits’ Hornitos Reserve

Hornitos Reserve
Two iterations feature in the first appearance of Hornitos' Reserve extension in the US
  • Tequila, añejo and cristalino, both at 40% ABV. The cristalino is aged for an unspecified period in American oak and spends three weeks in contact with whole vanilla beans from Veracruz, Mexico. The añejo has spent time – again unspecified – in three different American oak barrels – toasted, then charred and then “specially toasted”
  • Both rolling out across the US to selected markets this week
  • SRP of US$44.99 per 75cl bottle for both expressions

Pernod Ricard’s The Glenlivet Cask Master’s Collection

The new line from The Glenlivet features a 19-year-old iteration that has been finished in casks made from Scottish oak
  • Scotch whiskies, single malts, Speyside. Three expressions – 14-year-old (matured in mix of American and European oak), 16-year-old (matured in American oak) and 19-year-old (in American and European oak, finished for unspecified period in Scottish oak)
  •  Rolling out worldwide this week as channel exclusives to global travel retail
  • SRPs of US$85 (14-year-old), $120 (16-year-old) and $140 (19-year-old) per unit

Sullivans Cove 25 Year Old

Sullivans Cove 25 Year Old
Hobart-based Sullivans Cove was founded in 1994 and distilled what it claims to be "the oldest single malt whisky ever bottled in Australia" five years later
  • Australian whisky, single malt, Tasmania, 25 years old. Sourced from two American oak casks – a 200-litre ex-bourbon that delivered 134 units, and a 300-litre second-fill with 349 bottles, 47.8% ABV
  • On sale since late last week: The 134 units available ” by invitation only”, while the 349 bottles are the subject of an online ballot through the brand’s website. Also, 50 bottles will be on sale worldwide, split between Hong Kong, London, Paris and Singapore
  • Ballot price set at AUD4,500 (US$2,930 per bottle)
