Here’s a round-up of the new launches from spirits brand owners in the week commencing 10 June.

Gallo’s Heat Check

  • Vodka, flavoured. Produced using fresno, habanero and serrano peppers, 35% ABV
  • Launching this week in the US
  • SRP of US$10.99 per 75cl bottle. On sale for a limited period

Heat Check is the result of a collaboration between Gallo's New Amsterdam vodka brand and Sean Evans, the host of the Hot Ones interview show that has been running online since 2015

 Moët Hennessy’s Ardbeg Smoketrails Côte Rôtie Edition

  • Scotch whisky, single malt, Islands, no age statement. Matured in ex-bourbon casks then finished for an unspecified period in ex-Côte Rôtie red wine casks from the Rhône region of France, 46% ABV
  • A global travel retail exclusive in Asia Pacific, from outlets including Tasa Meng at Taoyuan and Ever Rich Duty Free at Penghu airports, both in Taiwan, as well as in Hong Kong and Changi airports, Hainan, mainland China, Australia and New Zealand
  • SRP of SGD124 (US$92) per unit

Ardbeg's Smoketrails series travels to France for its second bottling, with the whisky getting a finish in barrels from the south of the country

Henkell Freixenet’s Mionetto Aperitivo Alcohol Free

  • Liqueur, orange and liquorice flavour, 0% ABV
  • Released this week
  • SRP not immediately available, on sale in 50cl bottle

Almost exactly a year after the launch of the Mionetto-branded liqueur, Henkell Freixenet has unveiled a 0%-ABV version

Cloudbreak Spirits’ Aluna Tropica

  • Spiced rum, sourced from Sri Lanka and the Caribbean, features ingredients from South Asia such as pandan leaf, spiced pineapple, lemongrass and galangal, 38% ABV
  • Released in the UK this week through distributor Mangrove Global
  • SRP of GBP32 (US$41) per 70cl bottle
Bottle of Aluna Tropical spiced rum
The Aluna portfolio, led by its Coconut Rum expression, is joined by a South Asia-inspired spiced extension in the UK

Molson Coors Beverage Co’s Blue Run Flight Series II

  • American whiskey, bourbon, Kentucky straight high ryes. The series comprises Biscayne Breeze (57% ABV, 690 units), Joshua Tree Sunrise (58.5%, 672 units), Miami Sunset (below – 57.5% ABV, 900 bottles), Santa Monica Pier (57.5% ABV, 672 bottles), Tahoe Powder (58% ABV, 636 bottles) and Yosemite Pine (58.3% ABV, also 636 bottles)
  • Rolling out this week to the off-premise channels in 15 US states, including California, Florida, New York and Texas
  • SRP of US$120 per 75cl bottle for each expression

Proximo Spirits’ Gran Centenario Gallardo

  • Tequila, extra añejo, aged for an unspecified period in American and French oak barrels, then finished in ex-wine barrels from Bordeaux, 40% ABV
  • Available online to US consumers since late last week
  • SRP of $600 per 75cl bottle, limited to 679 units

Named after Gran Centenario founder Don Lázaro Gallardo, this small-batch tequila has been launched in the US "just in time for Father's Day

Ron El Supremo

  • Rum, Paraguay. Portfolio features five- (38% ABV), eight- and 12-year-old (both 40% ABV) iterations. All three have been finished in French oak barrels
  • The range expands its presence in Spain’s on- and off-premise channels from this month, heading to areas including Andalusia, Catalonia and the Balearic Islands following its recent debuts in Barcelona and Madrid. Also available online for domestic delivery
  • SRPs of EUR30 (US$32) for the five-year-old and EUR59 and EUR69 for the eight- and 12-year-old iterations, respectively

Origen X’s Mikolasch Single Farm

  • Vodka, Ukraine, 40% ABV
  • Rolling out to “select global markets” including Belgium, China, Germany, Greece, Italy, Poland, Spain, Turkey and the UK from this week
  • SRP of GBP25 (US$32) per 70cl bottle in the UK

Claiming to be the oldest vodka brand in the world - dating back to 1842 - the Mikolasch portfolio will be joined by a Cuvée expression later this year
