Australian whisky brand Starward has appointed Speciality Brands to be its UK distributor from the start of next month.
Under the terms of the deal, Speciality Brands will aim to build Starward’s footprint nationwide, increasing distribution across all channels with a programme of events, tastings and sampling. The craft whisky was previously handled in the UK by CASK Liquid Marketing.
Starward, which is on the roster of Diageo’s exclusive brand incubation partner, Distill Ventures, joins Speciality Brands’ world whisk(e)y portfolio that includes Nikka, Kavalan, Michter’s, Amrut, Chichibu and Lot 40.
Speciality Brands will initially focus on four expressions from the Starward range– Nova, Left Field, Solera and Fortis (100 Proof).
Starward’s commercial director, Scott English, said: “Our Melbourne-made whisky already has an established footprint in this dynamic commercial market, and we look forward to seeing Speciality Brands unlock new opportunities for us. This partnership represents Starward’s ongoing commitment to expand and grow in this region for years to come.”
Starward was founded by David Vitale in 2007 in Melbourne, an Australian city with an increasingly diverse and eclectic on-premise scene.
