Proximo Spirits has added eight markets to its existing distribution arrangement for the US with Johnson Brothers.
The expansion, which takes effect from 1 February, will see Johnson Brothers distribute Proximo’s portfolio in 17 markets nationwide, covering both open and control states. The eight newly-added territories include Hawaii and Texas, alongside Idaho, Montana, North Carolina, Utah, Virginia and Wyoming.
Global Drinks Intel has contacted Proximo to enquire which company previously handled its distribution in these markets.
“This expansion reflects our confidence in Johnson Brothers as a best-in-class distributor,” said Proximo CEO, Mauricio Vergara, who joined the Jose Cuervo controller in March, having previously worked for Bacardi. “One that delivers disciplined execution, clear ownership in the market, and strong alignment with our growth strategy.”
In April last year, Johnson Brothers purchased the Arizona, Colorado, Florida and Texas operations of fellow distributor Maverick Beverage Co.
