Ireland’s Powerscourt Distillery has confirmed via its website that it appointed a receiver late last month.
The Irish whiskey producer said that Interpath Advisory’s Mark Degnan was made the receiver on 26 June. The distillery will remain open for business to the public while “all online retail sales will be honoured and dispatched in the normal course”.
Powerscourt, which is based on the estate of the same name in Enniskerry, Co Wicklow, and produces the Fercullen whiskey brand, has referred “enquiries about the company or outstanding claims” to Interpath. Global Drinks Intel has contacted Degnan for comment on the appointment.
The company commenced operations in 2018.
Interpath was also appointed to oversee the receivership of Irish whiskey producer Waterford Distillery in November last year, following reported debts in the region of EUR70m (then US$73.6m).
