The namesake owner of Point Blank has secured a presence for the tequila brand with US retailer Total Wine & More in the state of Texas.
The move marks the one-year-old brand’s first appearance in the country’s off-premise channel, having previously been available only via its official website. Point Blank’s three expressions – blanco, reposado and añejo – are now on sale at 23 Total Wine & More outlets in Texas, with plans afoot to “expand in the south-west in the near future”.
The online SRPs for the trio are US$42.99 for the blanco, $51.19 for the reposado, and the añejo costs $71.49 – all per 75cl bottle.
Point Blank’s branding is centred around being an “additive-free tequila” with sustainable credentials. Co-founder Andrew Summersett said: “We created Point Blank to offer something honest – and people are responding. They’re tired of the hype, the additives, the empty claims. What they want is something real. Point Blank delivers.”
On the off-premise arrangement, he added: “Partnering with Total Wine (& More) is more than a milestone – it’s a launchpad for what’s next. Texas, my home state, is just the start.”
Last week, the mayor of Tequila was arrested over allegations of being involved in extortion. Diego Rivera Navarro was accused of extorting tequila distillers in collusion with criminal group Jalisco New Generation Cartel.
