Lucas Bols’ takeover of alcohol-free spirits start-up Fluère has closed successfully.
The transaction, first announced last month, is for the agreed sum of EUR1m [US$1.1m] followed by further unspecified fees based on targets over the next three years. The Netherlands-based group, which is most active at the cocktail end of the spirits category, plans to complete Fluère’s integration into its portfolio by 1 April.
Fluère’s namesake range of four flavours, Original, Spiced Cane, Raspberry and Smoked Agave, is set to grow, with the company teasing a Bitter addition in last month’s acquisition announcement. The company was founded five years ago.
Late last year, Lucas Bols reported a 20% lift in sales from the six months to the end of September, with the group noting a surge of consumer interest in the Espresso Martini in North America.
